Cloud migrations fail when they are treated as a technical exercise rather than an operational one. The infrastructure configuration matters — but so does understanding how your team actually works, which applications carry dependencies that are not documented anywhere, which data has not been touched in three years and which is accessed forty times a day, and what a successful go-live looks like to the people who will be using the environment on day one. Officebridge's Migration Path is a defined, stage-gated process that accounts for all of it — from the first discovery call through to post-deployment validation — with a named engineer responsible for your engagement at every step.
Whether you are moving a single application off a local machine, migrating an entire on-premise server environment, or consolidating infrastructure from multiple locations into one managed cloud destination — the process is the same: thorough discovery, careful planning, controlled execution, and a handover that leaves your team fully operational and your IT team fully informed.

Frequently asked questions!
-
What happens during the discovery phase and how long does it take?
Discovery typically takes one to two business days and is conducted through a structured intake call with your IT lead or operations manager, followed by a technical audit of your existing environment. We document all active applications, server configurations, data locations, user access requirements, and dependencies. The output is a written migration plan reviewed and approved by your team before any migration work begins.
-
Will our team be able to keep working during the migration?
Yes. We run your new cloud environment in parallel with your existing infrastructure during the migration process, so your team continues working normally throughout. The final cutover — the moment your team moves fully to the cloud environment — is scheduled during off-hours or low-activity windows and is preceded by a validation period where your team can test the new environment before the old one is decommissioned.
-
What if something goes wrong during the cutover?
A tested rollback plan is documented and ready before any cutover begins. If a critical issue is identified during or immediately after go-live, we revert to the pre-migration state without data loss. Our engineers remain on-call throughout the migration window and for the full duration of the post-deployment support period.
-
How are our employees onboarded to the new environment?
User access configuration — including credentials, role-based permissions, application access, and 2FA enrollment — is completed by our team as part of the deployment stage. We provide a guided onboarding session for your staff and a separate administrator training session for whoever will be managing the environment on an ongoing basis.
-
What does the handover include and what happens after migration is complete?
Handover includes complete documentation of your cloud environment — architecture overview, user access configuration, backup and recovery procedures, and admin console walkthrough. A defined post-deployment support period begins immediately at handover, during which our team is available to resolve any issues identified during initial live use. Ongoing managed services then continue under your standard Officebridge agreement.
